  • I have a IH TD-35 runs okay everything works so far, I just bought the machine, when running on gas it seems to run fine, but when it switches to diesel it starts to miss, and smoke. The guy I bought it from says that the injector pump was leaking and he took it apart and replaced gaskets and two gears fell out, he just put them back in, but when he started the crawler back up it started smoking and missing. He advised that an fuel injector shop says the pump is out of time, is this possible How much are these crawlers worth. This particular crawler is in good shape, fair paint job, great undercarriage, the engine is clean on the gas side, a little diesel leaks on from a return line on the injector pump, the crawler seems to lack power. Any suggestions

A bearing went on one side of the drives and I haventhad time to fix that, and now some kids took the can off the exhaust and now I'm doing the diesel in the spark plug thing. I hav a blade for it and wee as a fork that I bolt on the dozer (it works really well for getting out roots) I also have a great diesel pump test bench that my dad use to use for WD9s and farmals. it will test up to 6 cylinders. I would'nt mind selling both as I don't have the time to fix or use these any more.

As I only heard about this formidable little tractor, it was interesting to see it in a photo and well preserved. Farmers in our area sadly sold most of the old stuff to scrap dealers. My dad later traded it fot two Cat D2 tractors which did sevice for 25 years and was also the first tractors which I worked with. Many a good story were told about how they outperformed the first wheeltractors with double the horsepower, especially in wet conditions!

We have the engine running on Gasoline almost ready to try her on diesel. A lot of restoration to do mainly on under carage. Is there any other sites with Mc Cormick TracTractors I can't find any.

  • My family bought a new TD35 in 1938, serial# 3707, which was used on our wheat farm in the rolling hills of Eastern Washington St. untill the `60s, at which time it was traded for a TD9. I remember Dad saying that he drove that TD35 for nearly 30 years. I do believe that the `35 was the first tractractor that I drove. I can remember trying to crank it when I was about 12, and there was just not enought of me to turn it over to get it to start. At one time the `35 and a TD9 did all the tractor work on 1,200 acres of wheat and dry peas, and that was without airconditioning. I still have a 1943 Model H that will get a paint job this summer. If anyone might know where I can find that old `35 please let me know?
